The spring clean-up day in Newkirk has been re-scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m. til noon, and will also include a hot dog lunch and free roll-off dumpsters. Free T-shirts will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. If you’d like to volunteer, meet at the city building at 9am. Gloves, safety vests and trash bags will be provided.
Hundreds of off-road bicyclists will wheel into Ponca City on Sunday April 28th for the 3rd annual Boulder Bash. The event will be held on the Lake Ponca Mountain Bike Trails at 4-thousand east Prospect. Registration will take place next to the entrance Wentz Camp Entrance at 29-32 L-A Can Drive.

The Alan Jackson show that was originally scheduled for Friday, April 12, had to be rescheduled due to allergies. The new showdate for Alan Jackson at the Chesapeake Energy Arena is September 14. Country Star Kenny Chesney is not making one, but two local stops this May for his Songs for the Saints tour as Friday, May 3rd, Kenny Chesney will be at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, and then the following day on Saturday, May 4th, Chesney will make the drive down I-35 to the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. Joining Kenny on his tour will be Special Guests David Lee Murphy and Caroline Jones.
