The time is near for the 2019 Kay County Junior Livestock Show. This year’s show will be at the Kay County Fairgrounds in Blackwell February 18-22. If one of the things you wanna d in 2019 is travel outside the U.S. and if you need to get yourself a passport, the Kay County Courthouse in Newkirk will be having the Kay County Passport Fair on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. You’ll need to bring a photo ID, proof of U.S. citizenship, a passport application and either two checks or a money order. The annual Tonkawa Father/Daughter dance is scheduled for Saturday, February 16 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Tonkawa Methodist Church Family Center. All girls are welcome to the dance. Tickets are $25 per couple with $5 for each additional sibling. The cost to pay at the door is $30. Music will be by Ciara Brooke. Sign-up forms are available at the grade school and high school offices in Tonkawa.


The Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) will have the City of Blackwell Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 27 from 9 a.m. until noon inside the Bloodmobile which will be parked outside the Blackwell City Office. The Willie Nelson Show that was originally scheduled for Saturday, February 23 at the First Council Casino has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts. The postponed performance will take place on Saturday, March 30 at 8 p.m. at First Council, and tickets purchased for the originally scheduled February 23 show will be valid.
