Morgan Evans has been on tour with Chris Young almost all year, first playing smaller venues and due to demand, playing larger arenas. One of the most meaningful stops on the Losing Sleep tour happened just last weekend when Chris, Kane Brown and Morgan played Nashville's Bridgestone Arena, where they were greeted by a sold-out crowd.
Morgan tells us exclusively that nerves were buzzing due to the additional pressure of entertaining a hometown audience made up of many music industry VIPS, but it proved to be one of his most unforgettable nights. “There's all those added nerves for sure, and I feel like all the people around you make sure that you feel it (laughs). Like, before the show they're like, 'This is a big one, Morg. This is a big one,' and I'm like, 'I know (laughs). I know,' but you what, when I walked on that stage and I saw the place full and started playing he first song it just felt like it clicked, and I feel like although there's probably the biggest critics in Nashville, there's also the biggest country music fans in the world, and my photographer took a video of the moment when they were singing 'Kiss Somebody.' I must've watched it a hundred times or something, you know? It's definitely one of those moments. At this point in my life I'm really making sure to take those moments in and not letting them pass by and that was definitely one of them.”
Morgan's brand new single is called “Day Drunk.” It's the followup to his Number One hit, “Kiss Somebody.” Both songs are included on his upcoming debut album, Things That We Drink To, which will be released on October 12th.
