Miley Cyrus is one of the guest artists on Dolly Parton’s new album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, and her invitation came via fax machine.

In a new interview on BBC America, Miley told the host, “"Half the people watching your show might not even know what a fax machine is!” She explained that her famous dad, Billy Ray Cyrus also still uses one, and that’s how she confirmed her appearance on the album.

She also confessed that her dad doesn’t use a smart phone and said, “My dad has two Blackberries, from like, 2005… and he says two Blackberries equal an iPhone. Which is not true!”

A Holly Dolly Christmas is out now and the project's first single is Dolly’s duet with Michael Bublé called "Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas."
