While many in country music are embracing Lil Nas X's controversial mega-hit, "Old Town Road," Luke Combs has an issue with it. He recently told the Los Angeles Times, "Yeah, it's pretty catchy, but I feel there’s a little bit of sarcasm there I don’t necessarily appreciate. I feel like I'm being poked fun at a bit.

He continued, "Country music is near and dear to my heart, and one of the things that’s most important to me is that the music should be taken seriously."

Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' version is climbing the country charts.

Luke will be doing the same thing with his brand new single, "Beer Never Broke My Heart," which will premiere worldwide at country radio on Wednesday (May 8th) at 9 a.m. ET. He co-wrote the song with Randy Montana and Jonathan Singleton, and Luke tells us it was an idea he had been sitting on for a while. ["Well we wrote 'Beer Never Broke My Heart' on the tour bus actually (on) my first headlining tour. I had had this title in my phone for a long time and really wanted to save it for some guys that I thought would like of understand and grasp what I was looking for out of the song, and I went to soundcheck and I got back and they had kind of been hammering away on this thing. I got back and we buttoned it up and its just been a fan favorite ever since then and I'm just really stoked that it's finally out and everybody's getting to hear it."] SOUNDCUE (:32 OC: . . . to hear it.)

Luke will perform "Beer Never Broke My Heart" on NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (May 9th).
